Treasurer's Report: Jesse Ramos had no new report.
President's Report: Jane reported on the meeting at Speaker Pelosi's office on March 1; we were given a nice reception, and made our points well; we still need to contact Senators Feinstein and Boxer; Chapter 65 was well represented at the District V annual meeting on March 16 in San Jose, and Herman was given a super-recruiter award; we need volunteers for a presentation at the culinary Academy on May 11.
Discussion: An issue was raised by member Charles Minister, who asserted we should not go hat in hand to the representatives; instead, we should demand an end to the war in Iraq, which is taking all our funds, attacking our health care system, and making our pensions insecure; President Ramos responded that as an organization, NARFE needs to remain neutral on these issues.
