Program Report

April 2009

2009 CSFC CONVENTION: Our California Federation will be celebrating 60 years of continuous service to the federal community at our state convention on May 1-3 in Concord, CA. Conventions are where the business of NARFE are done. Delegates and members from around the state gather to shape NARFE's future policies, determine what legislation we should be proposing and/or supporting, and have the opportunity to communicate directly with National NARFE leaders about what we need and expect from them. Much important NARFE work gets done in the few days of the convention and a lot of new relationships are formed with members from outside our own chapter. State conventions, such as this one in Concord, are the stepping stones for building our future national policies and leaders. They are also a lot of fun. There are receptions, a recognition lunch and a final night banquet. Concord promises some lively entertainment throughout the three day program and at all the events, as well as an opening night wine tasting reception. All of this takes place at the Concord Hilton on May 1-3. The cost of $117.70 per night includes tax and free parking and is an excellent price for a great hotel with good transportation connections to and from any place in the state. Every chapter member should consider attending. Add your voice to how we operate and enjoy yourself while doing so. If interested in attending as either a delegate or a member, please contact  Jane Ramos (415) 826-3337 or Martha Raup (415) 334-6380.
