By-Laws Revisions: The By-Laws committee has removed a lot of unnecessary wording and consolidated the Chapter's Constitution, Standing Rules and By-Laws. A copy of the 2016-11-10 Proposed By-Laws is available here for download. The Chapter 65 By-Laws were voted on at the December 13th 2017 luncheon, unanimously accepted by the members present, and submitted to National NARFE for approval.
Chapter Dues Increase: At the February 2015 meeting we voted and approved a $.33 cents per month Chapter dues increase. So next time you renew your membership, the yearly Chapter dues will be $12. Over 90% of all the money from Chapter dues is spent on the newsletter sent to all our members monthly. This increase will allow us to continue producing and mailing our monthly newsletter. Affordable Care Act: Information about the Affordable Care Act was presented at our November 2012 meeting by Steven Wiener from the Regional Office of HHS. Two other helpful articles: "How the Health Care Law is Making a Difference for the People of California", and Top Five Things to Know about Affordable Care Act are also included.
Medicare Premium Fairness Act: NARFE applauds Sen. John Kerry, D-MA, for his decision to introduce legislation to protect Federal Retirees from the 2011 Medicare Premium Increase.
