Executive Board Report on Chapter 65 Dues Survey

The December 2015 Newsletter included a very important survey for Chapter 65 members asking if they would approve a dues increase and if so, how much. You can view the Survey Details and read the final Survey Results which can also be found in the February 2016 newsletter.


All current officers of Chapter 65 were unopposed and have been re-elected. The installation was held on December 10, 2015 at the Holiday luncheon at Bistro 10UN.

Did You Know?

NARFE Chapter 65 is having a fundraiser during the month of November to help defray the expenses of delegates to the State Convention in 2016. See more details.

Pier-to-Pier Walk

The 2nd Annual Pier-to-Pier Walk will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, from 9 -11 am. Aquatic Park Center is promoting outdoor exercise for adults 50+ in the stunning setting of the SF Maritime Historical National Park. 890 Beach Street. Join the NARFE Chapter 65 Team again. Medicare is Turning 50 on July 30, 2015!

On July 30, 1965, at a public ceremony in Independence, Mo., President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed Medicare into law. Moments later, the 36th president of the United States presented America's 33rd president, Harry S. Truman then 81 years old and praised by LBJ as "the real daddy of Medicare" the nation's first Medicare card. Peter Bauer at CMS has provided a brief history and time line of several Medicare and insurance-related milestones.
